I hope you all enjoy the photos and I will gladly answer all questions about this truck from serious inquiries. While I have very much enjoyed this project, it's time for another challenge. This truck is a blast to drive and a head- turner where-ever I go. Pearl blue flames and striping was performed by "Real Ralph" himself! All glass was replaced with slightly shaded safety glass and new weatherstriping. All wiring was replaced with a new fuse block/harness from "Painless" The all steel body was massaged to a "babby's butt" smoothness and painted with PPG "Lemon Ice". For comfort "Vintage Air" was added as well as a "Digital" dash, billet tilt column and wheel, power windows and "Lokar" shifter. The former fuel tank area is also paneled and upholstered to give the interior a clean look. ![]() The headliner is emblazened with the chevy emblem. Carpet and mats are also a matching grey. Door panels are covered in two tone grey. I'm 6'4" and need the space! It was covered in a medium grey velour. The interior was fitted with a split bench seat from "Glide Engineering" as it was made specifically for this vehicle allowing for more interior room instead of an oversized sofa from pick-n-pull. Polished alternator, a/c compressor, pulleys and brackets complete the package. Truck runs at a constant 185 and never overheats even in heavy traffic. Cooling is provided by a large "Modine" 4 row radiator, "Flowcooler" water pump and coupled with an electric fan. Exhaust flows through "Street & Performance" stainless steel headers, flowmasters and "Megs" tips. MSD ignition and billet distributor provides the spark. It's fitted with a steel crank, KB 10.5 to 1 pistons, Edelbrock performer rpm cam and Aluminum heads, Crane roller rockers and 750 cfm carb tops off the Performer rpm manifold. ![]() The fronts are Mickey Thompson P225/50 on Convo Pro 15x8.5 wheels. The rear tires are Mickey Thompson 31x16.5 on Convo Pro 15x14 wheels. With four wheel disc brakes and power steering this truck is fun and comfortable to drive and tracks straight as an arrow. (no butchered clip job!) Power rack and pinion steering and coil springs gives this ride a nice stance. For the front suspension a crossmember from "Fatman Fabrication" was added. The triangulated link and coilover suspension from "Air Ride Tech" provides for a smooth ride. The fuel tank was removed from behind the seat allowing for more interior room and a custom (20 gal) tank was installed behind the 9" Ford rearend with a filler on the right side (no draping the the fuel pump hose over the bed to fill a cell!) The 9" Ford is set up with 4.11 gears and along with a 700R4 transmission makes this truck quick and responsive yet cruises comfortably on the freeway in overdrive. I chose Poplar wood for the bed as it complimented the color scheme and added new polished stainless steel strips. The bed was replaced with a custom bed and tubed to allow for tire clearance. The truck is all steel with absolutely no rust. I began by a complete teardown and proceeded to restore and/or replace components as needed. It was a time in my life when being single with children grown to adulthood, and being a master mechanic of 42 years afforded me the time and dedication to bring this pickup back to life. Vehicle starts, runs, and drives beautifully.įeel free to reach out to me with any questions.I purchased this pickup ten years ago when it was nothing more than a neglected and unused vehicle. This thing is a real head turner wherever it goes, just shipped it from FL to NC and driver said he couldn't get gas without people surrounding his truck! This is truly my dream truck and hate to let it go, but i'm in the process of building a house and need some more capital! Radio does not work (its not wired), back brake signals work but turn signals do not (if you have a left arm, no problem!) The bed is set up so a two-by-six bed cover can be added (it was on there but the last set of boards weren't stained and rotted out), all the hardware to set that up comes with it, if you have any questions on what it used to look like I can send pictures. Wheels are tore thrusts I believe (chrome is flaking, but looks good on the truck!), brand new tires with the same 220 miles the engine has on it. ![]() Tailgate and roll pan have been welded closed for a nice clean look. ![]() The body is patina'd beautifully and clear coated. It sits on a 95 Impala frame with new springs and shocks - thats right, static dropped, it sits low! New Dakota Digital gauges, seats recently wrapped and interior painted (minor imperfections), brand new windows and vent windows, new fuel cell, new custom exhausted. Truck has a brand new crate 350, radiator, fuel pump, and rebuilt 700r4 transmission with 220 miles on it.
